There are some things you are going to need to purchase and have to fix him. Oh! Wear a mask when working with the 3M tape primer 94, as it is toxic until it is dries.
You will need to cut up the TPE into very small pieces. place it and some of the primer into a jar (just enough primer to cover the TPE pieces). It will need to set for a day or so the primer can melt the TPE down into paste, add more primer if needed, but if you put too much in just leave the jar open for a while and some of the primer will evaporate off. You want the paste to be the consistancy of thick honey. When the paste is done, the first thing is to clean the wound with alcohol and get out any debris and dirt. Bend the leg to the point where the wound gaps the most. Then fill in wound with the paste. When you have the wound filled in smooth it out as much as possible then cover it with the plastic wrap and let it sit for a couple of days to set.
Clean the areas again before starting on the heating process, then spray or pour on a thick coat of oil, it will keep the TPE from burning, you just want it to melt a bit to smooth out the wound.. This is where you use the spoon and torch. You will heat the spoon with the torch, then lightly and gently use the heated part of the spoon to smooth out the TPE. This takes a bit of finesse and you may just dab the spoon over the wound until you can see how it reacts. Use alcohol to keep the spoon clean between heatings. You just want to smooth over the wound so do not press down with any force. after the TPE is cooled cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit for another day. If you want to texture the skin in that area, before the TPE cools down you can use sand paper or I use a piece of nylon strap and just lightly press over the area and that will give it more of a skin texture. Once powdered it will barely be noticeable.
